About Me

I am Kate – an experienced researcher – and I set up Seeking Your History so I could use my own in-depth knowledge and skills to help others learn about their history.

My passion for history started over ten years ago now when I began researching my own family history. I uncovered some intriguing stories and made connections with a whole new branch of living relatives.

Having been truly bitten by the history bug, I then went on to complete a degree in History, graduating with First Class Honours.

In the final year of my degree I completed a work placement at Flintshire Records Office (now North East Wales Archives).

During my placement, I helped to answer customer enquiries, catalogue documents and digitalise Quarter Sessions Rolls. I loved the satisfaction of helping people to discover new information and answer historical questions.

I have previously volunteered at Unilever Archives on the Wirral and am currently volunteering remotely for Warwickshire Archives on their Court Bytes project helping to index Quarter Sessions depositions.

I am also a former editor of ‘The Leake Historian,’ the journal of the East Leake and District Local History Society.
